Uxbridge Supports Our Troops has received much community support for our Holiday in a Shoebox Campaign.  Our 2008 Campaign is underway now!   The campaign aims to show support to local military personnel stationed overseas during the holidays.

Donations may be dropped off at the Uxbridge Town Hall during normal business hours.

Below you will find a list of items that are appropriate for our Shoebox Campaign.  Holiday decorations make a nice addition to some of the items below and provide that seasonal touch!

Thank you for your support!

"Seely the Sealer" makes sure that all shoeboxes are packed properly and will arrive safely!

We don't just ship shoeboxes for the holidays.  We ship items to our servicepersons all year round!   The items listed below are always welcome donations and can be included in future shipments.  Donations can be delivered to the town hall at any time during the year.

  Suggested Items:
(No Aerosol cans, please!)

AAA or AA Batteries

Lip Balm

CDs and DVDs (can be played on computers)

Pens and Pencils

Small Games

Hard Candy

Candy-Coated Gum

Cookies/Snacks

(cheese and crackers, granola bars, jerky, pringles, nuts, sunflower seeds, etc.)

International Phone Cards

Socks

T-shirts

Red Sox or Patriots memorabilia

Hand-held games

Playing cards

We appreciate all donations.  Here are some things that we've learned along the way:
  • International phone cards are preferred.  Some domestic cards will not work, or the associated fees are so high that few minutes remain for the troops to use.
  • We cannot send anything in aerosol cans.  This includes spray deodorant, shaving cream, etc.
  • CDs and DVDs are popular because they can be viewed/used with a computer.
  • We cannot accept any homemade snacks/candy.
  • Remember that service persons are from many different races, creeds, and backgrounds.   Potentially offensive or controversial items cannot be shipped.
